June Foodie Penpals!

Hey everyone!

It’s the last day of the month, which of course means Foodie Penpals reveal day! (And this month it also happens to be my mom’s birthday. Happy Birthday Mom!)

This month, I got my package from Kathleen over at the Nut Kase.  I was so excited to see my package waiting for me when I got home from vacation last week.  I got home close to 2 in the morning from the airport, but of course had to open the box before I went to bed!

It had a combination of new things I have never tried before, and also some of my classic favorites 🙂

The first thing that caught my eye was the two bags of dried fruit.  I love little snacks like this and have never tried the Archer Farms brand, so these were great!  She included peach and pineapple slices.

Next up was another crunchy snack: Popchips! I had never tried these either, but had heard only good things about them!  They are a great alternative to normal, greasy potato chips, and give you a nice crunch for a snack.

Next up was soup! It is Archer Farms Thai Style Chicken Soup.  I’m excited to try it!

Next up was a package of Blueberry Muffin Oatmeal. I LOVE oatmeal and blueberries, so this sounds like an awesome combo 🙂

The last two items were definitely my two favorites.  First were two Luna Bars, one was White Chocolate Macadamia and the other was Chocolate Dipped Coconut.  Two of my favorites!! I love Luna bars and these are two of the best flavors 🙂

My other favorite was a Justin’s Peanut Butter packet! Anyone who is familiar with my blog knows I’m a nut butter addict, and Justin’s is definitely one of my absolute faves.  And these little packets are the best! Perfect for snacking on the go.

Thank you again Kathleen for the amazing package! I can’t wait to try it all!

This month I sent to Michelle over at Blogitness, so head on over and check out what I included in her box 🙂

If you want to join in on the Foodie Penpal fun, check out Lindsay’s blog, The Lean Green Bean for more details!

In case you’re a new reader, here’s a reminder of what the program is all about:

-On the 5th of every month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions. -You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal! -The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination! -You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!) -Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you are to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month. -Foodie Penplas is open to US & Canadian residents.  Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only. We’ve determined things might get too slow and backed up if we’re trying to send foods through customs across the border from US to Canada and vice versa.

If you’re interested in participating for July, please CLICK HERE to fill out the participation form and read the terms and conditions.

You must submit your information by July 4th as pairings will be emailed on July 5th!

Have a great Saturday everyone!

  1. I love your blog girl! especially all of the fro yo pics!!! i am glad i am not the only girl obsessed with ice cream/ frozen yogurt 🙂 NOTHING wrong with that though! keeps us strong and fueled for our healthy lifestyles and workouts! Do you have a facebook?

  2. Great box! Dried fruit is definitely a staple for me — I can add it in to my yogurt or overnight oats without any mess whenever I’m on the road. I’ll need to keep my eye out for the peach slices next time I go to the store!

And I LOVE Popchips! I highly recommend the Sea Salt & Vinegar kind, if you can find them (Trader Joe’s makes them too). Not sure what it is about that flavor combo, but it totally satisfies any salty craving I may be having 🙂
