Hi, I’m Taylor!

I am currently a sophomore majoring in Human Nutrition at the Ohio State University and am absolutely obsessed with any and all things nutrition/fitness related. I love baking, cooking, discovering new healthy recipes, exercising, and just about anything having to do with living a healthy lifestyle! I have also been living with Type One Juvenile Diabetes for the past 9 years, which is another reason why I am so passionate about health and nutrition.

I wanted a place where I could post new recipes and fitness ideas and really just anything about living a healthy lifestyle, so hopefully this will be a good place to do that!

So, here goes nothing! 🙂

  1. this may be random, but i follow you on instagram and then decided to check out your blog… now let me say i just spent about an hour looking through all of your posts and writing down recipes and all different things you post! haha i am also a sophomore majoring in nutrition 🙂

  2. Hi my name is Courtney Ballard I found you on Instagram. I have been doing a lot of research and getting tips from your Instagram and other girls instagrams, blogs, etc. So a few weeks ago I went from trying to lost weight by eating 600 calories a day and exercising a lot, to now doing what all you girls do! Eating healthy meaning lots of veggies, protein, good fats, low carb, and mostly natural not processed foods. I am running/interval training 6 days a week on a treadmill for about an hour and I do some ab workouts about 3-4 days a week. And I have seen a little progress but not much after about 4 weeks. I know I need to start weight training and I plan to because I am meeting with a trainer next week so he can help me with that. Otherwise can you give me any advice, what could I be doing wrong?

    • Hi Courtney! First off, it’s SO great that you have decided to do this the healthy way! It’s great that you are eating healthier foods, and the cardio is definitely a good start, but I know the weight training will be a huge factor for you! Just make sure that you are eating enough for your activity level. Eating too little can hinder your progress just as much as eating too much can! So make sure you fuel yourself properly. Let me know how the weight training goes once you start! Hope this helps!

  3. Thank you! Okay so the weigh training has started and is going well. I have a few questions nutrition wise though. I have like 50 questions lol so if you can’t answer all of them that’s cool! Since I am as of right now mostly focused on losing weight how many calories per day do you think I should be consuming and how many times a day should I eat? I try to make sure I have protein in all of my meals but I also am scared of high fat high sugar foods so I feel like I don’t have many choices? I guess what I am asking is what is a normal day like for you? And how can I adjust that for my calorie needs? Thank you!

    • Hey! So I’m not really sure about the whole calorie intake thing, but I will say this: don’t fear fat! (The good kinds, of course!) For example, avocados, coconut oil, and nut butters are all great sources of good, healthy fat! I also try to get lots of protein in at each meal with foods like eggs, egg whites, and lean meats. I also use protein powder after workouts and before bed. Hope that helps!

  4. Hi Taylor, I’ve commented on your blog a couple times already (I’m another 20 year old type 1) and I was just wondering if you have ever gained belly fat from insulin? I have been gaining belly fat slowly by slowly and I’m pretty sure it’s because I’ve been very insulin resistant lately and giving more and more insulin. Do you have any tips? I’m trying to get advice from my endo and nutritionist but they don’t have very good tips!
